Abstract:

Black holes are not really holes.  They are a lot of mass in a zero volume.  And they are not really black either; they are invisible.  Learn more strange facts about black holes in this introductory talk by Dr.  Sethanne Howard of the Washington Academy of Sciences.

Dr. Howard was Chief of the Nautical Almanac Office. Her main field of research is interacting galaxies.
